The love story

Our love of psychometrics originated way back in the 1970s when Talent Innovations’ founder, Elva Ainsworth, went through a full day of ‘career guidance’ assessments at the tender age of 17.  The interest was sparked!  After studying Psychology and entering the world of HR, Elva asked to train to BPS Level A and B standard.  After asking three times she eventually got to the management centre of SHL (now CEB) in Thames Ditton, Surrey and was trained by Professor Peter Saville himself.  She has been using psychometrics and 360° instruments in recruitment or development ever since.

After implementing psychometrics, assessment centres and 360°s, Elva joined her beloved SHL.  During her six years at SHL working in the UK and the US, Elva developed into one of the world’s experts in 360° feedback speaking internationally about the integration of 360° with other psychometrics and assessment centres.  She pioneered the development of the first online 360° in Europe and then, in 2000, started her own business, Talent Innovations, specifically to provide online diagnostics that really made a difference.
